"I am so glad that I took your course. As a working medical transcriptionist now, I realize I was prepared with good, relevant course material. The times that I run into something unfamiliar, I have confidence in looking up new terms, knowing I have the background and the reference books that provide me with most of the info I seek, including questions on grammar.  If I get stumped, I know I can e-mail you and you will help or direct me to a website with good info. It was an enormous help having Clint's expertise in helping us choose a computer system. I recommend your school whenever the subject comes up. I know that, without taking your course, it would have been so much harder for me to get on with the transcription firm I work with now."

"The transcription company that I do work for often does what they call 'MT QA Reports' of the transcriptionists' work. The documents I type go back to them, as well as to the doctor who dictated the reports. Well, what happens is the company saves several reports from a particular pay period and do a QA on them. After working for 8 months, I finally got 100%! They require at least 98% of all the transcriptionists, TNstly because of the company's reputation and workload, but even getting 98% can be tough sometimes. Anyway, of 3044 lines typed, there were zero errors, and my accuracy was 100%. According to the company's standards, I gave them EXACTLY what they want for format of each type of document and there were no meds or words which were incorrect. This was in the Department of Orthopedics. I'm pretty proud of this and just wanted to say thanks again for your help in the past.  My career in this field is going real well so far, and I look forward to many more years of this!  What fun it is!"

"Thank you for your letter of recommendation! It gave me a boost in the right direction! You are such a great instructor. I am happy that I found out about you and your program through Solano Community College. I want you to know that people all over the U.S. are saying good things about you!"

Kami in California

"I just wanted to tell you that I started a new job last week, at the main trauma hospital in a 4-state area here in Seattle, and I could not be happier :) The pay is lots better, benefits wonderful, people friendly and helpful, and best of all, they do transcription the way you taught me!! What a relief! I wanted to thank you for how stringent you were in reviewing my work, because I have a reputation now of catching mistakes and I feel very comfortable with this level of tight dictation. After my onsite training, I will be home with a hospital-provided computer telecommuting again."

"I want to tell others my success story with ROS School of Medical Transcription.  The school was originally recommended to me by a nurse friend who was researching courses and thought the materials were really superior in this course.  Through the entire course, Pat Bowen, CMT was a wealth of information and always helpful and encouraging.  I really felt like she was there pulling for me all the way!

"Here's the most exciting part of my testimony: I passed my final on a Tuesday, and on Wednesday, I was interviewing and testing with a national company!  I passed their written test with a 91 and their transcription test with a 90.5.  They said those were amazing scores for someone who hadn't already worked in the field before.  They offered me a job THAT DAY with a tremendous opportunity of training one-on-one with an experienced transcriptionist for the first 90 days -- a situation that is rare and very valuable.  Now I won't be sinking or swimming, trying to work at home right away and not having anyone to answer questions. They will even pay me a modest hourly rate for those 90 days because my production won't be up to speed until I get some experience. After the 90 days, they send me home with a computer with all their customized software and even pay for an extra phone line and high-speed internet access for my home!

"I am overwhelmed by how fast I was offered a position.  I know I worked hard, but I give most of the credit to the ROS for their challenging, comprehensive materials and their wonderful personal service.  I would recommend this course highly to anyone interested in entering the field!"

Sheryl in Florida

"Thanks a million for providing a great training course.  I'm very happy with my work and making a great salary.  In fact, I'm making nearly the same salary as I did after working for a very generous CPA firm for 13 years (that also required a 1-1/2 hour commute each way and dressing up every day)!"

Mary Ann in Maryland

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just heard from _____ this morning, and she hired me! She will start sending info and getting me set up this weekend. I couldn't have done all of this without your help and support. I can't believe that I will now have to juggle TWO jobs. I couldn't be more thrilled. Thanks again."

Jill in Montana

"I really cannot thank you enough for your assistance. It was a great beginning for me, and I feel as if I can only move forward from here. I cannot say enough good things about your school and the way it is run. Money well spent on my part."

"Pat Bowen, CMT is always there to answer questions, and her husband, Client, is wonderful about helping with those nagging computer problems, too. There are a vast variety of ways to work as an MT nowadays, and the Internet and e-mail can be very helpful in doing MT work from home. Clients can be a great resource when it comes to getting these things set up, too.

"I found work within about a month of graduating ROS. I usually suggest that you look for the smaller MT services in your city and/or states. These smaller services are usually more willing to take on new, less experienced MTs and to give them training to get them started.

"As for making a career change, I think you need to understand that this is a wonderful job to do from home or in a clinic or hospital setting as long as you love words, research, and working independently for the most part. If you want to work at home, do realize that it can take up to a year or so to really get going and up to speed enough with you typing and MT skills before you will be making decent money. There is decent money to be made doing this job, but there is a real learning curve before your production gets going strong.

"I hope that didn't deter you, but I think it is best to tell people a little good and a little not so good about this career. If this does sound like the thing for you, then, yes, I do wholeheartedly recommend Jen Martin and ROS for the strength of her course materials, the support system she has set up for ROS graduates. It was good enough to get me started, and now I have my own small service out here in Central Oregon and have MTs working for me through the Internet. It took five years, but I had a good solid base from ROS to do it from. Good luck in your decision!"

Jenn in Oregon

"I have to say I really credit your course for getting me this job!   The MT owner had been very skeptical about even hiring me part-time to begin with, saying it takes at least a year to become a good MT.  But when she asked me to come on full-time, she said I was valuable to her already, because I had enough pride in my work to actually look up the stuff I didn't know, instead of just typing in anything.   She said I wouldn't believe the kind of work she gets back from supposedly "experienced" MTs, who just guess and don't take the time to look up anything.   I was slower at first, but my speed is coming up rapidly, so she seems very pleased.

"Thank you so much for the excellent preparation ROS has given me for the real world.   I feel like I have such a solid foundation from which to build.  The research skills I gained from the course and the excellent textbooks help me in my work every day.  Most of all, I learned that pride in one's work will take an MT a lot farther than simple speed.  'Quality over quantity.'  Didn't we learn that from the first day on?  Thank you, thank you for your excellent course, and rest assured that you are doing great work."

Sue in North Carolina

"Thanks for a great job. I teach a class at the local community college, and your articles give me and my students much food for thought. I've also sent several students your way who can't mesh their schedules with the college schedule, and they're going to try your home study course. In this day and age when mediocrity is the norm, it's nice to see a class act such as yours."

Jeanne in Virginia

"If you ever need any endorsements or anything, let me know.  It was a dream come true when I got that job after finishing school and should gross $40,000 this year -- sitting here at home in my whatever.  Thanks again for your help last night and also for a really great start in this field."

Katie in Texas

"I want to thank you again for the training I received from you. When I started my new job, I was curious to know if what I had learned would really give me the tools I needed to learn my job quickly and feel comfortable with it. I want to tell you that I was able to do just that."

Irene in Tennessee

"I'm in an Internet study group with students from several other schools, and after comparing our courses, I have to say, I STILL think ROS is the best school.  [Another program] was a contender for me for a while, and it appears to have a lot of fluff to go along with it, but I find it to be exactly that -- fluff -- and none of  it is any better than the solid curriculum of ROS. I'm so pleased with this school and find myself fantasizing about my imminent change of careers."

Amy in Maryland

"Thanks for all you've done and for providing me with this fabulous opportunity to do medical transcription. It has made it possible for me to obtain two of the things that are so important in my life...time with my son and purposeful work. If you ever have anyone who needs a reference for the ROS program, I would be happy to give it a glowing recommendation!

"I'll still be in touch I'm sure, but wanted to say a special thank you for all you've done!"

Patricia in Tennessee

"I am really enjoying myself my second week on the job.  I know that I am still in the 'honeymoon' phase, but I really love it!

I really am thankful for the course and that I've had you as an example.   I definitely have a deep respect for this profession and am very proud to now be a part of it. Thanks for all your patience and support."

Robin in Tennessee

"I am a student at ROS and I can highly recommend the program.  The textbooks are of the highest quality, the staff is terrific and extremely helpful, and the fellow students are a great group.   There is no lack of support, and the internship program is a first-rate learning experience. All in all, I have been extremely pleased with ROS."

Diane in Florida

I'm now an employee of CMT!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to you  for recommending me and for your confidence in my abilities. I will be starting next week and am thrilled beyond words. I'll write to you with more details when I find out exactly what's up, but just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your efforts to train me and give me this beginning to my career as a medical transcriptionist."

Lisa in Michigan

"Glad to hear you are so successful — you sure have helped me by providing excellent training for Clara. I hope to be able to use more of your students in the future. I'm now hooked on hiring new grads as they have not formed bad habits and are so eager to learn."

Judy in Texas

"I am very impressed with the thoroughness and reference materials, as well as the tidbits of info you've provided."

Nolanda in Kansas

"I have already encouraged several friends of mine to enroll in Jennifer's course, and my son's godmother is currently just finishing up the course. She was an RN and tired of all the politicking going on in the medical field. She was very excited, just as I was, to continue in the medical field but not to deal with all the corporate rigmarole and stay at home and work.

"I got into this field because I wanted to find something I could do and 'use my brain' as my husband said and stay home with my kids, which is my first priority, (ages 5 and 1). I did a lot of research and found that Jennifer's program is one of the best in the medical transcription field. I live in a rural community and would have had to drive at least an hour or more to attend a college program. That's one benefit ... staying at home and taking the course at your own pace. I was also very excited after getting the course outline about how extensive the course is. I do have a medical background and that definitely helped me, but I can assuredly say that I learned A LOT while taking the course. The reference books alone are worth the cost of the course.

"Benefit #2: Reference books! They are a complete and essential must if you are going to get into this business, especially if you want to work at home.

Benefit #3: Working at home. This business is one of the few legitimate work at home opportunities that does not require a major capital outlay (ROS was $1500, payable per lesson with 5 lessons, compared to $9000 and up for a college course).

"Benefit #4: Support systems. Not only is Jennifer a wealth of knowledge on the subject, obviously, but joining the AAMT (American Association of Medical Transcription) has been very enjoyable and fun. I have met so many extremely nice people who are generally very excited about their profession. The support that AAMT gives is incredible. From state and local chapters to an 1-800 number for help with terminology to a bimonthly magazine, it is a great organization to be a part of, especially since I do work alone at home. It is nice knowing their are others out there who are doing the same thing I am and going through the same thing also!!

"Benefit #5:Jennifer did help me in finding a job, which I am enjoying very much. I LOVE 'going to work' when I put the baby down for a nap,  not driving anywhere, not having to deal with daycare, being at home with my kids, etc. I could go on and on!! After not working for four years, it is really nice to be able to DO something challenging, which this definitely is. This is a LEARNED SKILL. Meaning Joe Shmoo may take the course, but he won't be a Shmoo when he finishes.

"I have gotten so much out of taking the course,  meeting people, and learning. This is the wonderful thing about this profession. You are always learning ... new medications, new procedures, new technologies. Medicine itself is exciting.

"As you can see, I tend to run on and on and on.....Hope your are still with me!! Anyway, I will close by just saying one thing: TAKE THE COURSE AND HAVE FUN!"

Clare in Tennessee

"I am totally impressed and thoroughly excited. A monumental task to accomplish so well. A course that others should use as a model. Jennifer's experience and knowledge shine through!"

Judy in Georgia

"It is truly an excellent program and an excellent value for the investment."

Brenda in Florida

"Thank you so much for all your patience and diligence and your persistence in demanding perfection...well...as close as we mere mortals can get. I have really enjoyed your program and feel that I have learned a lot.

Kathy in Illinois

"Just wanted to pass on a very big compliment from the Director of the Medical Transcription Department at the hospital. She said, 'That must have been some course that you took! Margaret (the woman who proofs my work) is very impressed with your abilities and the quality of the work that you are producing.' Once again, thank you for all of your support."
