White Bear Lake, Minnesota
My name is Theresa Eckerson, but most everyone calls me Terri. I am 34 years old, married to Jeff for 8 years, and we have 3 children. Pamela is 13, Jeffrey Jr. is 6, and Jonathan is 4. We have a Dalmatian named Domino. We live in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
I graduated from the ROS program in August. I am really having a great time with this new career. I have been a stay-at-home mom for almost seven years. I am also a professional crafter and have participated in a lot of craft shows. I have recently finished designing jewelry for two "how-to" books that will be published soon. I am also a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
My previous jobs have included receptionist, switchboard operator, customer service representative, and payroll administrator. I am so happy to be able to work at home now because I can be with my kids and I dont have to drive in the winter.
I chose MT because I have always been interested in the field of medicine, but I know I could not handle being a nurse. (I have been known to pass out at the sight of a needle.) I started a course many years ago to become a medical secretary, but due to a bad marriage (the first time around), I had to quit to work. So, I am very grateful to have another chance. My husband built an office for me in our basement last winter, along with a hot tub room right next door. (You know where I am in the winter after work.) He has been very supportive of my decision.
I have a little personal information that I thought I would share with you. When I was 30 years old, my father died. One month later, his wife told me that I was adopted and that he wasnt my biological father. (Sounds like an Oprah show). Well, needless to say, I was very upset. Since then, I have found my biological father and two sisters and another brother. So, now I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers. It has been very interesting! My biological father lives in Arizona in the winter, so I have been able to visit that state several times. Last year, I went to Mexico City to see the migration of the Monarch butterflies. (If you ever get a chance to go, it is truly awesome!)
Well, thats me and a little of my life. I am really enjoying this new adventure and learning loads of new things everyday. Thanks for reading!
